Vertumni did an excellent job choosing the right plants to have things bloom at different times like I wanted and did a wonderful installation. We get many compliments from people walking around the neighborhood. Highly recommended!

I used Vertumni this July to give my overgrown landscape a refresh. There was a team of four who worked hard and with expertise the entire day, and left my garden looking great. Very professional and competent.

First and foremost, we were extremely pleased with the job and professionalism that this company exhibited. 1. They provided a detailed quote. 2. The office staff responded promptly to the numerous questions that I had. 3. They booked a start date and kept it. 4. They arrived each day on time. I added 3 items to the project between the quote phase and start date. This added 1 1/2 days to the job. They made sure I understood this before the job started. They finished when they projected to be done. 5. The crew carpooled to our house each day in a small vehicle. This might seem like a small thing but parking is a big issue in our neighborhood and we really appreciated this. They had one medium size truck that they used to deliver supplies and to take away debris. 6. The crew was very pleasant. The crew chief spoke English. Some of the crew didn't but the crew chief was always on site. This company was one of 4 recommendations that I received from friends. They did provide the lowest bid and I was very impressed by the designer.

Bruce and his crew transformed our un-usable backyard into a lovely garden space that our family uses all of the time now. We were so happy with his design and the execution by his team. Bruce and his team were collaborative, detail-oriented, friendly, professional and very easy to work with. We will definitely be using them again for future projects.

Bruce was wonderful to work with, with just a quick site visit he understood what we were looking for, our timeline and our budget and made great recommendations. He made it easy to participate in the plant selection and considered our tastes in generalities, that allowed flexibility to get the best plants available. Bruce's design turned out lovely, and his makeover of our front yard (including a surprise bonus of our parking strip) for our niece's wedding was beautiful and helped make the day! His Operations Manager (Alyssa) was just right, very helpful, responsive, great at coordinating a quick turn-around request and calming. Day of staff was also great to work with, and left the place beautiful - ready for guests.

We engaged Vertumni last year for a complete front and back yard makeover. Our makeover is shown on Vertumni's Houzz page as the "Matthews Beach" garden but it looks better than those photos (new fence, plants have filled in, etc.). The story: We had been in the house for 20 years and the yard was tired, and had gotten pretty overgrown with competing spreaders (not to mention weeds). Bruce came over and we walked through some ideas. I showed him some photo ideas and we talked things through. He had a number of great suggestions that totally flipped the way we had been thinking of garden layout. I liked having a fresh eye on the space. I would say their bid was as I expected. Not cheap but not outrageous. I don't mind paying a reasonable rate for a job well done. Before the job we talked through plant preferences and ideas. Bruce sent a suggested plant list, which I reviewed and crossed some off I didn't like, and added a few others. They redid the front garden first, completely removing the mats of weeds and grass and spent shrubs, etc., bringing in new topsoil. They removed an old badly laid (by me) brick path and put in an expertly crafted flagstone one. They finished by putting a layer of nice dark mulch throughout. Everything went very well and in less than a week we had a great new space. Neighbors and people walking by stop to compliment us on it. (Although I didn't do the work!) I'll attach a before/after photo of the front garden here. We also repainted the house as can be seen in the second attached photo, which (I think) turned out well. (Shearer Painting.) You'll notice in the photos a rather large area that's unplanted. We asked them to set that aside for veggies, so that's where we had tomatoes, beans, peas, lettuce, perilla, basil, etc., over the summer. By shifting the garden layout around, Bruce effectively tripled our veggie space, while still improving the over eye-appeal of the garden. In the meantime, we hired the folks at Alki Fence to replace our back-yard perimeter fence and the rickety white picket fence in the front yard (still in the photo below). And then we hired Vertumni again to come redo the back garden as well. Same process, same great results! It has been fun to see the plants chosen change through the seasons. He made great choices! This morning the daphne odorata he planted near the front door came into bloom making a great welcome every time you enter or exit the house! I'm looking forward to seeing how the garden looks again this year as things fill in. Also, with the garden makeover, maintenance has been MUCH easier! I was able to do a spring cleanup in just a day's work to bring it back to looking great. I definitely would hire them again! Great experience.

Bruce Bond designed my back yard landscaping about 12 years ago. He took great care and time to get to know my likes and dislikes and accommodated them in his "Wild Grace" design. His crew did a great job of prepping the space and installing all the new stuff, as well as incorporating the plants I'd already put in so they worked with the new plan. I've had them come back every year since, at least once or twice, to do spring or fall maintenance. They get so much done in a day, it's always fun to come home at the end of a work day and see the magical transformation. One member of his crew also installed a paver patio and a shorter, artsy fence to keep my dog contained and protect the bigger yard. Vertumni is not the least expensive option, but they're worth the price. My back yard is my personal haven, thanks to Bruce and crew.

I had a wonderful experience with Vertumni. I hired them to completely redesign my front and back yard. I needed a lot of design guidance. Bruce was able to take my few ideas and develop a great plan. The process was effortless for me, they completed the work within the agreed upon budget and timeframe, with beautiful results. I was impressed with the crew. They worked very hard and left the area clean after each workday. I felt like they respected my privacy and my property. We would definitely use them again, and I don't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family!

In 2015 Bruce Bond and I met to discuss the HOA board's vision for a landscaping redo of 4 gardens at a downtown Seattle condo complex. The job included problem solving for one garden (rock placement and planting designed to discourage loitering), demolition of a defunct fountain system and complete renewal of another garden, planting of trees limning the street in front of the building, and renovation of another smaller garden. Bruce was personable, knowledgeable, and expressed confidence that he could bring our vision to life. The work spanned the summer and fall (planting was delayed only because the summer heat was so fierce and Bruce did not want to put the plants at risk). Each phase unfolded on schedule and was completed without a hitch. Bruce's greatest asset is his Operations Manager, Alyssa Hoppe. She coordinated every step of the work and was always available to answer questions by phone or via email. We were so happy with the results that we have hired Vertumni to provide ongoing monthly care for the gardens they planted as well as other planted areas on the property. Bruce's crew is hardworking and very polite. All told, Vertumni has been a pleasure to work with.

Bruce and his team did a fabulous job on our new home. It was a difficult yard because of the large changes in elevation. They were on time and finished when they said they would. We had a couple of issues with some of our new shrubs as they had only been in about two days when we got a very high wind from the sound and blew some of them down. I called Bruce and they were here the very next day to replant and repair any other damage. Just an overall good company. Does a good design, puts it in, and charges you what his estimate is. Can't ask for more. John

Bruce and Vertumni look after our 6000 sq ft lot/garden each month, as well as undertaking additional landscaping on request. This is the third gardening and landscaping company we have worked with, and are far superior to others. He and is team are very knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, professional and responsive. Nothing is too much hassle. He is a pleasure to deal with. I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending Bruce ans Vertumni.

We had Vertumni re-do our entire backyard in Seattle. When we bought the house, there was a very large concrete slab that served as the "patio," and the rest of the yard was an overgrown nightmare. Bruce at Vertumni listened to everything we communicated: we wanted low maintenance plants, low-height for the most part, and what he created was amazing. The plants were varied and he created zones where certain plants were the focus area. Just beautiful! We also had the square concrete slab taken out), and Vertumni created the most incredible round/natural shaped patio out of stone. I was there the day it was created, and it was fascinating to watch him break these huge pieces of stone apart, and then piece them as if making a puzzle, into this shape that worked perfect. The whole result was so much more "organic" and created a natural feeling space in the backyard. I *highly* recommend Vertumni. The workers were punctual, listened to our needs, and the results were amazing. They coordinated with some of the other services we had going on at the time as well, and helped project manage. We also had Vertumni out each spring to weed and give it an uplift - after these drab NW winters it always needed some help, and we have two young kids, so the chances of us weeding all ourselves is highly unlikely, at best.
